Amazing show!!!!!!!! Thanks for posting, Lion K.

Ken Hinds
He's always seemed a little bit awkward and vulnerable in his concerts. It's actually endearing. It counterbalances his immense talent.

Brenda Killian
I LOVE TODD ! In A GIRL'S DEAM< for me. The Orchestra, The Drummer, and TODD ! perfection !

Todd Rundgren is the best musical artist ever.

tb35pa

IMO Todd Rundgren and Hall And Oates are probably some of the best musical talents our city {Philadelphia) has ever been lucky to share with the world .

stephanie farrington
I'll never be able to bring myself to be a ridiculous fan-girl but if I were so inclined, this would be the guy. Compassion, common sense and he's obviously flawed and not trying to hide it, plus brilliant, brilliant like the corona of the sun.

When I hear his music, it makes me look at the world with bigger eyes, makes me want to be a better person. I love my husband madly, just for himself, but now and then, I look at him and it occurs to me, he looks quite a bit like TR and I wonder if that was part of the appeal.

Thanks for posting this.

Robert Reynolds
Thank you Todd for this concert. You are inspirational. Amazing person. Just heard your 07' album Arena. Best rock album I've heard since Neil's Ragged Glory.

KPUT-TV / KPUT Radio
Todd is just too talented for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

I bet these classical musicians dig play with rock and rollers. Check out some of the other Metropoles.

I discovered Todd's music when I heard it play in the H&M store on the Philippines. My parents have no idea who he is or why I keep blasting his music at home! Regardless, this video made me wish I can watch one of his shows live!

Elsie H Martinez

Am I the only person who thinks that this really sucks? Ahh well! Love a lot of Todd and Utopia stuff! But this is a yawner for me, my friends! It does put this one to sleep! I will give it that! Or maybe it's a lot like listening to Donald Trump! In some kinda special code that only real "Trumpsters" can translate! I guess I am not a real "Toddster" if that's the case!

Richard Cooper
i was 12 (44 years ago) when i first hear Todd. I still love his music. Few artists or songs claim the same loyalty from me (Marvin Gaye, Robert Palmer, Stevie Wonder and his female doppleganger Alicia Keys).

MRB7444
Awesome .... I quite simply could not pull myself away from watching this !!! Todd is one of the most talented composers of our time ... or any other time for that matter. I have been listening from the very beginning.

Lion Keezer
... and there's more.. look up the first one from 2011

MRB7444
There is also one from 2011 as well....Not quite as good as the 2012 edition but still awesome !!!

Has this geezer, got to die before he gets included into the ' hall of fame' of music? (I haven't checked pre comment, but I'm sure he's due!)

Steve O
I have only been exposed to his music on a larger scale..recently....and I am in my 40's..so i am now digging thru his material......I am still amazed...that one man could write Love is the answer....Bang a drum all day...Property...and countless other songs that are different styles...genres......produce many major acts....plays many instruments....he is a true genius..... that for some reason....does not get the recognition or credit he deserves.....Thanks to those who put this up to be shared with all...

Lion Keezer
Glad you found him Steve, he's an amazing artist, one of the great of our time. You'll enjoy his music for the rest of your life... ;)

Jeff Flinn

Steve -- Two things to look up. FIRST -- Give Something/Anything a listen. On the first three sides, Todd plays every instrument and supplies every vocal that you hear. On side four, there are a dozen or so musicians in the studio, and they roll right through, recording every song, every spoken word, every mis-take, etc. By the end of the side, you feel like you were involved in the recording process. SECONDLY, listen to his song, "Something To Fall Back On." Listen to it once, then again, then again a third time. Then realize, it is a song recorded with no instruments. None. You SWEAR you can hear the snare, the bass, the lead and rhythm guitar parts, etc. But it's all vocals. Todd is a f-ing genius. I hope you come to love him and his music as most Todd fans have. I was fortunate top interview him, and have seen him 16 times in concert. Never a bad show. Good luck; let us know how you do!!

jonnyblent
In the '80's David Bowie said this of Todd..."if he'd bothered to play the record company game, he'd be a household name."

Steve O
Yea...maybe that's part of the magic..of it....a lot of things that fly under the radar..can sometimes have that underground vibe....

I guess it goes back to how some people think if a band "makes" it...or crosses over...ie Metallica with the black album...there are other examples.....the music tends to loose something....or they "sold out"

I don't necessarily think that is the case...but when you start making hit records....the record companies want more of the same....and then you can fall into a trap...creatively...musically....

The fact he really didn't care about being a "pop" star or sell himself out....he still is a Maverick with a very long active profitable music career....while many acts...die in the generation in which they became famous...he still soldiers on....

GCAT 1.618

Hi Steve O, You will be busy for years of enjoyment if you want to explore all his many moods and genre. I was a "Todd Clod" growing up near the Sunset Strip catching so many great nights in the 70s, I was there the night they recorded Back To The Bars", a fun double album,(I'm dating myself with"album"in the 70s) but I consider myself lucky because you are right about him not really being mainstream. He even announced that if the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame were to induct him, he would not accept.I hope that you stick with the journey, I stopped listening to him for a while and when I got online I had to catch up! Not to mention all the many bands he has produced, helping many talented people find their own voices. He is quite a crowd pleaser if you ever get a chance to see him live. He was always one of my favorite performers because he got the audience involved, singing great uplifting songs like Determination, or The Wheel of Karma, or Love is the Answer. Your comment is

, I hope you are still listening and if not, I am happy to serve as a reminder!

davh10
One of the most underrated musicians ever. He is amazing always has been.

Chip Lyon
A truly magical performance....really highlights his incredible writing talents. Really love "Love in Disguise" and "Wailing Wall"....just great!!!

Ron Fast
used to think no modern singer songwriter could come close to Harry Nilsson for vocal purity, but gawd damn it Todd Rundgren is pretty fackin close.

MIke Mencaroni
Absolutely blown away by his talent all these years later. Just an amazing recording. Thank you so much for posting!

Stephen Budd
Cant believe I hadnt come across this, amazing....Todd never dissapoints

el Garee' Bee
It's hard to rate the Metropole other than a great. Yes you can hire them Do that! Really (but you better be good).

Yes, Todd's music is so very worthy, elegant and Tom Trapp's orchestration add to the mix but the superb players of the Metropole are still with us. Yes it may be the "Dutch national treasure" but it is ours' to understand, appreciate, support and to preserve. This was the second iteration of Runt's Met orchestral projects. He has many other ensemble projects and that's why a lot of us love him. He takes huge chances.

Take chances. This is a pleasure to listen to.

miquel440
En helemaal top dat jullie die opnames maken, geweldige kwaliteit!

Jan Douwes

"What is the sound of a plummeting frog? It's a sickening FWAP! like a rock in a bog...." made me remember the scene in Magnolia. A lyric only Todd could write....gotta love the man!

Teri Woods
Great performance! Todd continues to amaze and inspire! I have seen him perform live four times since around 2006, I believe, I have been a fan since, "Hello, it's me." and now own many albums and CD's. I must say seeing his shows live is always a great experience! Come back to Kansas City any time, we'll be waiting!

Roberts Bud
TR plays ragtime, no,.look but not .. it's the Metropole playing some of those tremendously good Utopia songs of the 70's and 80's ./ they must have the good smoke in Amsterdam to have noticed the utopian wunderkid TR . My hat's off the The Metropole..../ we''ll leave it at that / by the way Amsterdam leads the world on many fronts as they have for many centuries in other ways too.

Ana Presley
so talented and hip, I always love his hair

Yeah I saw that, just wondered if the tour celebrated a certain album or time period from Todd's long career...

This is truly amazing and better than most concert recordings I've seen (which can be a bit sterile): this is like being in the venue; funnily enough I remember plenty of audience recorded bootlegs that were better than the live album. This is a great performance and an awesome video testimony to this fine artist: clearly there are 31 people who are struggling to get up to speed ..never mind!

Kevin Shockey

Todd will come to my hometown of Groningen in the Netherlands on February 19th next year, to perform the complete suite of "Up Against It" with a symphony orchestra (NNO) accompanied by 2 of the 3 background singers you see in this video (Mathilde Santing and Wouter Penris). It is labeled a "European premiere", but I can't find subsequent tour dates. Tickets are still available and cost € 34 for adults and € 12,50 for youths. The link http://www.de-oosterpoort.nl/programma/noord-nederlands-orkest-26/ is in Dutch and you have to register an account to be able to order. Thank you for putting this fabulous show up. I must make the correction that Todd was NOT born in Cleveland, rather he was born in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania; just outside Philly.

Richard Federico
When is Todd not doing something interesting?

Richie Buzz
Geweldig!

Diane Butler
Hi Leon, I met you and Jacqueline at Toddstock II V6.5, at that time you told me about this video. I was just getting started with FB and getting more computer literate. I actually just now saw it for the first time, at random while watching videos. I wish I would have found it sooner. Such an amazing show! I was excited to see some of my Todd friends in the audience! Thank you so much!!!

Sadly, because we would love for it to be true, but Todd was not born in Cleveland, i think it's a common mistake because Todd often wears Cleveland t shirts when performing---we have been loyal fans over the years.

Awesome!

ReneeNme
What other singer can you think of that can sing like a young black girl in a church choir when they chose to ?

Erin Walter
+ReneeNme What?

ReneeNme

The way Todd can jump up and hit those highs and also his ability with riffs & runs much like you can hear black church choir soloists do. You'll also hear the techniques in a lot of R&B music. 4:13 ~ 4:15 in Todd's song " Real Man " is a perfect example of what I'm talking about. It's kinda weird though. Sometimes Todd can reach for a high note, he nails it, and it sounds like a sparkling diamond. Other times though, he'll reach for a high note and it sounds like he's swallowed a handful of tacks.

Erin Walter
+ReneeNme Okay, got it.

ReneeNme
The main reason I was always a fan of Todd Rundgren & Ronnie James Dio is because of their operatic abilities. Todd proudly shows his here at the 9:16 ~ 9:35 mark.

inquisitor
+ReneeNme I second your assertions.

Lion Keezer
A DVD would never give you the same picture quality as you experience through YouTube, especially not when streamed and viewed on a HD computer (such as an iMac or Apple TV) or a HD TV screen - with good stereo sound equipment connected, naturally. DVD's are not HD, it is old technology. Try and download the YouTube file if you want to keep the show on your computer. There are apps and plugins for that on the internet.

Jim Mac
+Lion Keezer, thanks for making this I've watched a few times, the 1st was when you uploaded in 2012..and it really good full screen and definitely worth 2 hours of Todd..Thanks again....<(")

Roel Lassche
This is one BIG victory for Todd, one of therbest symphonic orchestras in the world: Unique this one: DVD Please? for al his fans in Holland ( and there's a lot)..still

Todd plays clubs in the US. Sorrowful proof that American audiences just don't have the sophistication I saw again and again across the Atlantic. He's far from the only example, of course. Tears for Fears, Alanis Morissette, Fiona Apple, Swing Out Sister and Cock Robin rarely (if ever) played field houses (let alone stadiums) as headliners in the States, but did so Over There.

PlanetRockJesus
I love Todd... you cannot imagine... but I wish he would do his songs a bit more like the originals. Not the music so much, but the vocal phrasing. I think that singers should only embellish a little bit, as it causes the listeners a bit of pain when they stray too far from the studio version.

AMAZING TODD! I've got to buy this too! Love from Ty

MrGengiskhar
over wizard ,.,over starr,.

Mathilde is in great voice still. She has been covering Todd songs for decades, as I'm sure fans will know. I'd love to hear more work with the two of them, perhaps a whole Todd covers album with only her and Todd.

Victor Eijkhout
Oh, is that her? Yeah, her Todd covers are great.

Roel Lassche
don,t hear fom mathilde nowadays, would be great, she knows his soul

James Brown
This performance is so special. That rendition of "If I have to be Alone" - it's as if Aaron Copland visited Todd from the grave to inspire him to create this. I have always been affected by the spiritual tone of his material - sometimes the message is lyrical, sometimes it's the music itself. It never gets maudlin or cliche. And the Metropole can play anything and elaborate the vision. Pretty much perfect.

dagwood953
This is awesome. Those old songs bring back great memories. Todd is God!

deetgeluid
Godd ;)

Lori Ingram
Cleveland Born and the best composer in my mind...other than Frank Zappa...I would fly to see him and to see Chaka Khan...No More Time For My Second Wind is Awesome and chilling...This is the Best of Todd

Lion Keezer

...certainly worth flying for. I know many people who did. I crossed the ocean 4 times myself so far just to see him and meet some great folks. (Even though this one and the 2011 concert were the best and... in my home town.) Thanks for sharing Lori and please join us 'Utopians', f.i. on Facebook, look for RundgrenRadio as a starting point.

Lori Ingram
Thanks...Oh I love his music now more than ever...his lyrics are so powerful....and every note of every band member is so precise!Tight!

Lori Ingram
I have noticed some things on YouTube but never played it. I will!

Jazz Fusionner
+Mark Meyers Philly Soul Bros...Todd and Daryl...the two episodes with Todd and Daryl on Daryl's oustanding programme...priceless!

Jazz Fusionner

+Lori Ingram I just came across this, been a Wizard follower since Nazz dayz...I am speechless with this gig...it does not get any better in music...this is ultimate transportation to elsewhere...and yep, they are tighter than a dime spinning on an Evans snare drum skin...

Victor Cuevas
Nice

Andrew G.
+Lori Ingram I'm a huge Todd fan, but don't know much Zappa material. Like Todd, Zappa has a TON of material out there... any suggestions where a fan of todd (particularly the early to mid 70's style) should start, in the Zappa catalog? thanks :)

Oliver Hock
+Andrew G. I'd say "Live in NY", "Overnight Sensation", "Apostrophe", "the Hesinki Concert", "One Size fits All" and a bootleg from Sydney 1973 are a good start. For more instrumental stuff you can check out "Orchestral Favorites", "Sleep Dirt" and "Studio Tan"

Richard Powell
+Lori Ingram Todd was born in Upper Darby in Philadelphia. I totally agree he is a super musician ,producer , arranger .Todd can do it all and he is very humble... take care...

Roel Lassche
You,re talking the late,great FZ,bur believe me me,this is as good,maybe better

John Zgrabik
Lori Ingram It was at the Cleveland Agora that Todd realized he was going to be a superstar. He loves Cleveland and Cleveland loves him but he was actually born in PA.

kevin104z
this, esp the audio is amazing!!Thanks....

Jos Van Suchtelen

this was in the theatre " PARADISO" in Amsterdam, unique place to perform, Todd with one of the best Philharmonic world wide. Todd a great singer and composer, on a level, you hartly will find with newcomers in todays music they should listen to this and learn! Todd is belonging to those rare "Architects of Music" like Frank Zappa was, so creative and unique, also great to see a professionall high class entertainer ! Moreover you openend my ears, did not know that my Dutchies had so good musicians, looking at Todd, he enjoyed very much Holland I suppose!

Ray Pleth

Phil McCorkle
Madonna is in the Rock and Roll HOF and Todd is not. Can you believe that?

tonfan730
...and it's a disgrace! He should be in the HOF on his production credits alone....

It's time to make some noise to bring him here, it's not enough with Ringo's All-Starr Band which last gig I couldn't assist since I didn't knew Todd would be there.

BOB DUNNE
One of Todd's lesser known classics, "Fade Away". Beautiful song 40 years ago, still some of the most beautiful lyrics ever written. Thanks Todd!

GCAT 1.618
One of my favorite love songs.

David Ian Cowan
Todd channeling Zappa?

Jim Bongarzone
The best!

ComposerImprov
Mind blowing only Todd could do this

bohogal1

The hallmark of a classic song is not only being able to hum it but taking a song like Hello, It's Me and getting an entire orchestra to play all those beautiful instruments. Rundgren has taken exceptional care of his voice and it shows!

jan schiavino
Always was a favorite of mine. Anything Todd Rundgren did, for me, was outstanding. Recently saw him 2 nights ago in Providence, Rhode Island with Ringo Starr's All Starr Band, and was BLOWN away by him once again. Came home from the concert HIGH on Todd, which brings me to this presentation of his genius. In Amsterdam my favorite city, and home to me foe several years during the 70's.

Brian O'Connell
OMG! WTF!

mysticmaverick1
This was wonderful! He sings so soulfully. Saw him last night as part of Ringo Starr's All-Starr Band and "Love is the Answer" was the highpoint of the night.

Michael Vujas
Check out Gino Vannelli with the Metropole Orchestra. Todd and Gino should perform together.

Summer Bacon
All heart, all soul, all things Todd. Been searching for this perfect representation of one of the world's greats, and found it here. Thank you! Todd sings my heart and soul.

larciabella
AWESOME .......Can We Still B Friends ...........THEY NAILED IT the Lalalaala's

Joel Clonch
What is he saying in the megaphone during the first song?

Joel Clonch
"You've got a boy child coming"?

THANK YOU! I didn't want to bitch and complain and be that guy, but I was taken aback that all this info was included EXCEPT the track listing. Again, much appreciated.

Kim Hartman
+Henry Mena as a live event, there are no 'tracks'. The setlist available from the link provided (see more info: http://www.keezer.nl/trmo)

Henry Mena
+Kim Hartman: I'm a musician myself, so I know the difference btwn a set list and track listing. And when a concert/performance is presented as a recording, there IS a track listing, especially since it might actually deviate from the set list.

TIM Dooley
I always loved the original version of Wailing Wall, but this performance with piano, horn and orchestra is truly exceptional. Todd is Incredible !!

Ted Rood
Great to see a repeat appearance after Todd's 2011 show. He was so ill there his vocals were seriously impacted. Like the trooper he is, he persevered. just a treat to see him here firing on all cylinders!

Love this show. I have seen todd Way too much. I'm an expert.I love the way they start this show. The first time I saw this I decided to take a bath (for the first time in a long time) and bring my laptop with me (never knowing this second show existed)I hit You tube as my bath was getting ready and wow I had a great time and the wife was jealous.

Blair Kirkby
After years, saw him couple years before at Hard Rock Orlando - 40 people in audience?? INSANE! what do kids know? A couple got up and danced in first row - we all applauded and danced- preppies - wow that wasn't Utopia concert, tho - just Todd :) wish I was comedienne and gymnast like his wife lol

Blair Kirkby
my video stuck? no moving flow? haha I got to hug him for 30 minutes trying to get my cell phone to work for a pic - he was so patient - 1st anniversary of my husband's death - I went alone - I didn't tell Todd - I was so happy, tho!! My life went on again from there - alone. Made it OK. We were at same hotel - I drank the mini bar down after, listened to him you tube and danced alone- and just was grateful and so thankful - so kind to hug me while waiting for pic - I needed a hug - 2011? I first saw him OKC 1969 maybe? We were both shocked by that lol great admiration - great guy

Love the string arrangement on Fascist Christ... kinda dark and eerie. Cool.

Dave Wendt
I love the sequel when Fascist Christ kicks the shit out of Fascist Muslim who was murdering and raping Coptic Christians. BTW, Fascist Christ served in the U.S.Air Force in 1995 and helped to save Muslims in Bosnia who were abused by Fascist Serbian Orthodox Christ. He returned to Kosovo four years later.

The very Great Todd Rundgren! Who can ever miss this I can't understand!? So just go for it! Rock on!!

zensnoopy
this man is divine and was always graced by a supernatural humanity from the very beginning. listening to him sing, struggle and triumph his way through "pretending to care" is a profound experience. may he never leave the planet.

Deploradorable
This guy doesn't belong in the R&RHOF, he's way to good for that.

David Op't Holt
Thank you Todd!

muzikcrafter
Absolutely phenomenal! Everyone involved was amazing... musicians, vocalists, arranger, engineers, video team, conductor, and of course my Philly bro. Todd, simply awesome!

sara cheri
SO wonderful! It's so strange that Todd actually never changes the way he truly is ,but he changes (to the positive) everyone and everything around him every time he performs. He's always been and will be forever be amazing.

Saw the State Tour In Woodstock, going to the EGG in July and North Hampton in August. It's Kinda been like that with Todd since I was 16. Now that I'm kicking 50 in the ass, I still cant get enough of him. A Wizard a True Star. Nothing else to say!

stretch54
The first tune "another life" by Utopia just blows my mind. That song works so well with an orchestra.

Andy Isham
Hey. This is a different show to the one I've seen before. Terrific. Thanks.

I've come back to watch this a second and third time. Gawwd, is it ever great!! Thank you, Todd, and thank you to all these beautiful people in Holland.

Great job Lion Keezer ! Your a true fan that gave back to all of us Todd Rundgren Fans! It's a gift ! A-gain, Thank you Lion Keezer !

D Studenberg
Todd obviously is having a great time. What a great performance.

naughtmoses
Todd's still a big deal in Europe (like Alanis, Brit Floyd, Cock Robin and Yes... even though they all perform in English). Think they're a little more "sophisticated" over there? Nooooooo.

dvmovie
Todd is such a class act. His music, together with these amazing musicians and vocalists... It's nirvana for a Todd fanatic. Great quality with the sound and video, too.

am11963
Why be judgmental? Todd did it out of love for both father and child. Enjoy the music!

anne wilkinson
if I was Liv Tyler, I would be ashamed, cos Todd brought her up as his own, and he has more talent than her so called dad, Steven who never even gave a shite till she got fa mous, her name should be Liv Rundgren.....peace...

anne wilkinson
SO TALENTED LOVE TODD......<3

deetgeluid
I love this concept. You my friend, are a genius. Making most with no (or very little) money. This is the future!

1rumplestiltskin1
magnificent in every way. fabulous.

Lion Keezer
Yep, that's how these things work :) Had the same experience back in '94 when Todd did 'No World Order' in Amsterdam. Replaced my entire LP collection the next day with CD's (they were all on sale... ;) ) BTW, you can order 'State' special edition which includes the 2012 Orchestral concert on a bonus CD. Google Cherry Red Records, Todd's new label. Also check out the 2011 concert (on the website listed under the video)

cynthia sansone
I am so gratefulto be able to watch this gifted artist in this format. I just saw The State Show in New York, and was reignited and inspired to seek out any and all video of TR. What a rare treat, Thank you for posted, Truly amazing

Carmen Barlow
This is wonderful Todd on top of his game. Thank you for sharing this much appreciated. You can see how happy he is loving working with this team.

Toni Edvardsen
WOOOW!! What a fantastic thing to watch, after a few weak albums, this is what I needed to get the good `Todd-feeling`back. Thank U :D

marc sobul
I'm referrring to the Nelsons Ledges concert in 1975. I just picked up State at his CD signing in L.A. and going to his concert in July.

marc sobul
I was at that concert too. I still have a picture we took of a cop giving our friend a ticket on the way there.

Leisa Wisbey
Forever grateful, Lion Keezer! Have been doing a lot of listening to this as well as State with my new set and what you have here is special!

naughtmoses
Just re: "Second Wind" alone (right before the break), the word "genius" is utterly inadequate. Is he one of the greatest song -- and lyric -- writers =ever=?

Fwwooggs!

OMG This is super fantastic.

Nancy N-Blue
What I'd do to see Todd with an orchestra....unfortunately there's not much chance of that since I've moved to Australia!! Guess I'll have to get my fill via this clip......too too beautiful

twrood1
Freak Parade played by an orchestra, gotta love it! Just watching this, but if it's as good as their last collaboration (and Todd doesn't have bronchitis), you know it's got to be special. Thanks so much for posting!

twrood1
Think you get an audio copy of this when you buy the deluxe edition of State, Todd's brand new (4/9/2013) release.....about $16 for both together on Amazon!

Ace's Cafe
Todd must have taken in a BSO concert. I love Todd, but I think it's time to let the Skunk stripe go and let the bangs cover some forehead. Andy yes, I'm envious/Jealous. I've been a Todd fan since before it was cool to be a Todd Fan. (Runt)

Lion Keezer
FYI: Todd's new CD 'STATE" is being released internationally this week. There is a limited edition available that includes this concert on a bonus CD, all in a very nice dual box with a booklet. You can order it directly from his label Cherry Red Records. (Google them) Just make sure you order the special edition.

Forque YU Gugle
wow... I have been a fan of Todd's music since the Nazz.... and I must say, this ranks right up there w/ the best things he has ever done. The Metropole Orchestra ( tho they threaten to overwhelm him at times) is a PERfect match for the emotion and deep feeling found in Todd's best tunes. Truly remarkable event.. thanks LionKeezer, for putting this up!! Is this available on CD anywhere? Sure like to have this to listen to again.

PlayItAgainLouder
Lisamarie, so sorry about the loss of your father. I sent you a comment on your channel. Healing hugs from me and Todd.

PlayItAgainLouder
Thank you for sharing this performance with the listening world. My universe is a better place now. I watched it with my teenagers last night. My son said, dad you have a man-crush on Todd. I said yeah, for a very long time. Thank you Lion Keezer.

Lion Keezer
Thanks everyone for posting such wonderful comments. I read them all and it makes me really happy to know that so many people enjoy this and recognize how special this performance is. If you like this show (2012) then also check out the first (and similar) show from 2011 also in Amsterdam with the fabulous Metropole Orchestra. Details on the project website see URL above. We also have a page on Facebook: 'Todd Rundgren & The Metropole Orchestra' Again thanks everyone! Lion Keezer

PlayItAgainLouder
Hey Lisamarie, "State" is his new cd, coming out this weekend. I listened to the samples, sounds like a combination of No World Order and Liars. The first time I saw Todd was 1975 at Nelsons Ledges in Ohio, a great outdoor venue on the Another Live tour. The absolute best show was the "Ra" tour. He came to Houston last year and I was front and center. I couldn't believe when I heard he was returning this year too. Every show is incredible in it's own way, diverse, poetic, and stunning.

PlayItAgainLouder
This is the most beautiful concert my ears have ever been so fortunate to hear. I'm listening at work with tears in my eyes. My co-workers must think I'm possessed. In 2 months I'll be seeing Todd for the 33rd time. Life is good.

danny wagner.sr.

Okay, I give up,...What is he saying over the megaphone at the beginning??? Love this of course by the way. The orchestra really showcases and enhances his brilliance as a composer.

Mr. Todd Rundgren has been doing his thing for some years now. For me he never really seems to care about the mainstream. He followed his heart. No matter what the course. I just love it all. I feel he is an example of "REAL" when you have it and embrace it, "REAL".....can't be taken away....I so enjoy it !!!!!!!!

Frogg Rundgren - love it x

Original tunes by Todd the wizard! I believe Steve Vai used this orchestra for 'For the Love of God'...but little to its main melody and hear if its substantially similar to the opening theme music to season 2&3 (~1973) of Tv show Kung Fu.

pallallan f.kjellberg - October 2013
The very Great Todd Rundgren! Who can ever miss this I can't understand!? So just go for it! Rock on!!

zensnoopy - October 2013
this man is divine and was always graced by a supernatural humanity from the very beginning. listening to him sing, struggle and triumph his way through "pretending to care" is a profound experience. may he never leave the planet.

Leslie Rhinehart - October 2013
This guy doesn't belong in the R&RHOF, he's way to good for that.

David Op't Holt - October 2013
Thank you Todd!

muzikcrafter - October 2013
Absolutely phenomenal! Everyone involved was amazing... musicians, vocalists, arranger, engineers, video team, conductor, and of course my Philly bro. Todd, simply awesome!

sara cheri - September 2013
SO wonderful! It's so strange that Todd actually never changes the way he truly is ,but he changes (to the positive) everyone and everything around him every time he performs. He's always been and will be forever be amazing.

Gil Wadsworth - September 2013
Thanks again for posting this. History!

TheDynamicsolo - September 2013
in reply to Gordon Fletcher: Its TURD, say it right...........

TheDynamicsolo - September 2013
I met some Turd Runtgrin fans, self absorbed, no esteem, loser worshippers. I mean that in the nicest way, have a great week!!!

Gil Wadsworth - September 2013
amazing. my hero.

john grauberger - September 2013

Laurie Santine - August 2013
Cool. Thanks Leon!

Edward Owen - July 2013
The lack of his inclusion is yet ANOTHER reason why the R&R HOF is the epitome of "joke".

DaddyClb - July 2013
Thank you, Lion Keezer, for uploading this incredible show. It is, perhaps, the best 2 hours I've ever spent in my entire 61 years on the planet. God Bless You! Thom "Daddy C" Colson Lancaster, Pennsylvania - USA

Eliot Aitken - July 2013
One of the greatest nights of my life.

Lion Keezer - July 2013
in reply to Jod ifrom Lake City: Don't feel alone Jody, there's many of us. Join Todd's 'best fans in the world' and meet some great people, f.i. on Facebook. Look for Toddstock II and RundgrenRadio

a sid - July 2013
Saw the State Tour In Woodstock, going to the EGG in July and North Hampton in August. It's Kinda been like that with Todd since I was 16. Now that I'm kicking 50 in the ass, I still cant get enough of him. A Wizard a True Star. Nothing else to say!

JodifromLakeCity - July 2013
I am very gratified to see the response Todd gets from his fans and the respect from fellow musicians. Sometimes I feel alone in my love and respect for this amazing artist. Thanks for sharing!

stretch54 - July 2013
The first tune "another life" by Utopia just blows my mind. That song works so well with an orchestra.

Andy Isham - July 2013
Hey. This is a different show to the one I've seen before. Terrific. Thanks.

fcboreilly - July 2013
in reply to Frankygenesis Hello its me

Gordon Fletcher - July 2013
Just brilliant. I feel so sorry for the people who say "Todd who?"

dvmovie - July 2013
I've come back to watch this a second and third time. Gawwd, is it ever great!! Thank you, Todd, and thank you to all these beautiful people in Holland.

Clayton139 - July 2013
Great job Lion Keezer ! Your a true fan that gave back to all of us Todd Rundgren Fans! It's a gift ! A-gain, Thank you Lion Keezer !

D Stud - June 2013
Todd obviously is having a great time. What a great performance.

naughtmoses - June 2013
Todd's still a big deal in Europe (like Alanis, Brit Floyd, Cock Robin and Yes... even though they all perform in English). Think they're a little more "sophisticated" over there? Nooooooo.

dvmovie - June 2013
Todd is such a class act. His music, together with these amazing musicians and vocalists... It's nirvana for a Todd fanatic. Great quality with the sound and video, too.

am11963 - June 2013
in reply to anne wilkinson: Why be judgmental? Todd did it out of love for both father and child. Enjoy the music!

anne wilkinson - June 2013
if I was Liv Tyler, I would be ashamed, cos Todd brought her up as his own, and he has more talent than her so called dad, Steven who never even gave a shite till she got fa mous, her name should be Liv Rundgren.....peace...

anne wilkinson - June 2013
SO TALENTED LOVE TODD......<3

deetgeluid - June 2013
I love this concept. You my friend, are a genius. Making most with no (or very little) money. This is the future!

1rumplestiltskin1 - June 2013
magnificent in every way. fabulous.

Lion Keezer - May 2013
in reply to cynthia sansone: Yep, that's how these things work :) Had the same experience back in '94 when Todd did 'No World Order' in Amsterdam. Replaced my entire LP collection the next day with CD's (they were all on sale... ) ) BTW, you can order 'State' special edition which includes the 2012 Orchestral concert on a bonus CD. Google Cherry Red Records, Todd's new label. Also check out the 2011 concert (on the website listed under the video)

cynthia sansone - May 2013
I am so gratefulto be able to watch this gifted artist in this format. I just saw The State Show in New York, and was reignited and inspired to seek out any and all video of TR. What a rare treat, Thank you for posted, Truly amazing

Carmen Barlow - May 2013
This is wonderful Todd on top of his game. Thank you for sharing this much appreciated. You can see how happy he is loving working with this team.

Toni Edvardsen - May 2013
WOOOW!! What a fantastic thing to watch, after a few weak albums, this is what I needed to get the good `Todd-feeling`back. Thank U :D

marc sobul - May 2013
in reply to marc sobul: I'm referrring to the Nelsons Ledges concert in 1975. I just picked up State at his CD signing in L.A. and going to his concert in July.

marc sobul - May 2013
in reply to PlayItAgainLouder: I was at that concert too. I still have a picture we took of a cop giving our friend a ticket on the way there.

Leisa Wisbey - May 2013
Forever grateful, Lion Keezer! Have been doing a lot of listening to this as well as State with my new set and what you have here is special!

naughtmoses - May 2013
Just re: "Second Wind" alone (right before the break), the word "genius" is utterly inadequate. Is he one of the greatest song -- and lyric -- writers =ever=?

Frankygenesis - May 2013
What's the name of the first song?

Eskimo1973 -
Fwwooggs!

Linda K - April 2013
OMG This is super fantastic.

Nancy N-Blue - April 2013
What I'd do to see Todd with an orchestra....unfortunately there's not much chance of that since I've moved to Australia!! Guess I'll have to get my fill via this clip......too too beautiful

twrood1 - April 2013
Freak Parade played by an orchestra, gotta love it! Just watching this, but if it's as good as their last collaboration (and Todd doesn't have bronchitis), you know it's got to be special. Thanks so much for posting!

twrood1 - April 2013
in reply to Forque YU Gugle: Think you get an audio copy of this when you buy the deluxe edition of State, Todd's brand new (4/9/2013) release.....about $16 for both together on Amazon!

Ace Andres - April 2013
Todd must have taken in a BSO concert. I love Todd, but I think it's time to let the Skunk stripe go and let the bangs cover some forehead. Andy yes, I'm envious/Jealous. I've been a Todd fan since before it was cool to be a Todd Fan. (Runt)

Lion Keezer - April 2013
FYI: Todd's new CD 'STATE" is being released internationally this week. There is a limited edition available that includes this concert on a bonus CD, all in a very nice dual box with a booklet. You can order it directly from his label Cherry Red Records. (Google them) Just make sure you order the special edition.

Forque YU Gugle - April 2013

PlayItAgainLouder - April 2013
in reply to Chloe Z: Lisamarie, so sorry about the loss of your father. I sent you a comment on your channel. Healing hugs from me and Todd.

PlayItAgainLouder - April 2013
in reply to Lion Keezer: Thank you for sharing this performance with the listening world. My universe is a better place now. I watched it with my teenagers last night. My son said, dad you have a man-crush on Todd. I said yeah, for a very long time. Thank you Lion Keezer.

Lion Keezer - April 2013
Thanks everyone for posting such wonderful comments. I read them all and it makes me really happy to know that so many people enjoy this and recognize how special this performance is. If you like this show (2012) then also check out the first (and similar) show from 2011 also in Amsterdam with the fabulous Metropole Orchestra. Details on the project website see URL above. We also have a page on Facebook: 'Todd Rundgren & The Metropole Orchestra' Again thanks everyone! Lion Keezer

PlayItAgainLouder - April 2013
in reply to Chloe Z: Hey Lisamarie, "State" is his new cd, coming out this weekend.

PlayItAgainLouder - April 2013
in reply to Chloe Z: This is the most beautiful concert my ears have ever been so fortunate to hear. I'm listening at work with tears in my eyes. My co-workers must think I'm possessed. In 2 months I'll be seeing Todd for the 33rd time. Life is good.

danny wagner.sr. - April 2013
He's amazing

RogersGibsonES137 - April 2013
Okay, I give up,...What is he saying over the megaphone at the beginning??? Love this of course by the way. The orchestra really showcases and enhances his brilliance as a composer.

clichematic - April 2013
in reply to ok parasite: This concert is included in the new Todd Rundgren cd State (de luxe version )

Susan Raslovick - April 2013
What a gift!

Mark Tarr - April 2013
I can only imagine what an orchestrated version of "The Ikon" might be like. Would there be any survivors?

Paul Mitchell - April 2013
I have been on this planet for 64 years and I have NEVER seen a better concert...or a better example of the heights the rock and pop idiom can reach...absolutely mindblowing!!!

brazenlyphoward - April 2013
nothing beats todds passion, sensitivity, talent... and i say that as a lesbian.... Thnx for posting. i really needed this!

winstonsmithee - April 2013

Frank van der laan - March 2013
wat een waanzinnig feest was dit! ....wat een zang, wat een emotion

ronn scala - March 2013
A GREAT CONCERT

andrea loo - March 2013

Roger Morgan - March 2013
Frogg Rundgren - love it x

StratsRgreat - January 2013
Original tunes by Todd the wizard! I believe Steve Vai used this orchestra for 'For the Love of God'...but little to its main melody and hear if its substantially similar to the opening theme music to season 2&3 (~1973) of Tv show Kung Fu.

Craig Dalton - January 2013
Absolutely amazing. Thanks for making and sharing this!

Roberto Gatto - January 2013
So great!!No words..love Todd,love tunes,love arrangements.Wow!!!

arjenhdg - January 2013
Great ! Part 3 in 2013 ?

John Boye - January 2013
The works done recently with Metropole are a higher level for this God-gifted man. Although he may not agree and think me pretentious, I see this as "the Best Is Yet To Come!" The next level is yours, Todd. Thank you for keeping me inspired. Thrilled to have met you years ago in Charlotte. Hope you're on Broadway next year!!

Roger F - January 2013
Is it just me or did the vocals need to be cranked up a notch by the soundmen recording this...seems the orchestra overwhelms Todd occasionally...nothing that can't be fixed during performance, correct? Great job nevertheless...really love it overall!

Mark Gareth - January 2013
I've met You in Deryll's House I didn't know You... But I like You now !!! Wish You the best Todd R.

winterlandboy - January 2013
I don't care what they say..he isn't that pretentious

8doublehelix8 - January 2013
Beyond superb production! Todd was in great form!

Nunyo Bidniz - January 2013
Great show "capture". Love how far youtube has come since 10 min max videos. My only critique would be some of Todd's song choices this year's concert, having performed the same songs during last year's paradiso concert. Property, Pretending to Care, Facist Christ, etc. Todd, if there IS as Paradiso 2013 could you PLEASE dig deeper into your bag of awesome works. I'd personally love to hear The verb To Love ala Metropole, among many others. Just sayin'

Dale C - January 2013
Absolutely stunning. You did an incredible job with the editing. Nice show and great sound/visuals.

Roger F - January 2013
Love it! His voice is even better this performance, and clearer background vocals. Seems like they're having more fun this performance in general!

Cheryl Rayden - January 2013
I am always touched by the ",Labor of Love " Projects that are done for the sake of Our Hero, Todd Rundgren. This Yr's Concert with the Metropole & Mathilde Santing is Outstanding ! We All appreciate the Utopian Efforts of All Your Projects thus far. How Wonderful to have this documented for all time. That is so important in regard to Todd Rundgren, as Future Generations will raise Todd Rundgren up where He belongs. Having this kind of work for them to look upon,is already a Treasure ! Rock Love

robznl - January 2013
Lion, you did an absolutely great job! Thank you so much! Especially the backstage / offstage footage adds even more value to this wonderful concert registration. Happy New Year!

Marina Of Light - January 2013
one word: wow!

ModestyXX - January 2013
Absolutely a fabulous piece of work!!!!

Herman Roovers - January 2013
Yeah, Lion and his mates did a great job! Thanks a thousand times!!!! I was also there and Lion's movie captures the mood amazingly. As a Mathilde Santing fan I'm delighted he also focused on the background singers. Nice to see that Mathilde has sweeter memories as Todd sings Wailing wall. She did a cover of that song herself. Lion also is AWATS!

Michael Harkins - January 2013
Spectacular Concert! Wonderful work by Lion Keezer to preserve this "landmark" concert for posterity! Todd Rundgren is "A Wizard, A True Star". His multi-genre compositions, intricate arrangements, powerful vocals & brilliant musicianship continue to withstand the test of time! The Metropole Orchestra & Mathilde Santing are Dutch National Treasures. Thanks to Co de Kloet & NTR Radio for making this show possible, Tom Trapp for the amazing arrangements & the 12 fans who captured the footage.

John N-F - January 2013
Lion, another amazing effort! Far better in v 2.0, way to go man! Will there be a torrent for download?
